Children's English Literacy
Understanding the need for children to learn a language that can be used to communicate universally and which provides easy access to all forms of knowledge, CORDE has initiated an English literacy program that can be
taught to children fast and effectively, and which provides them with a foundation of the mechanics of English.
This English program uses an integrated approach to teaching not only English but at the same time children learn moral values and important themes pertaining to their lives.
Upon completing this program children are expected to move to the next program in the sequence of programs offered by CORDE.
The Moral Development program is being used by CORDE to provide students moral values and human qualities in a way that is acceptable to them. The contents and activities contained in the series aim at developing human virtues and moral capabilities. Human virtues, like science and language, must be taught to the children. It is in the earlier years that human beings form their character, so it is very important that schools lay great emphasis on moral education. In this way when the students finish their schooling their character is built on a firm foundation.
Children understand things in a very concrete and practical way. These are taught using suitable situation, appropriate stories and relevant songs while teachers make sure that students understand and inculcate in the students the concepts that are being introduced.
This program is aimed at helping to develop capacities of Junior Youth and preparing them to make the critical passage from childhood to adolescence. This program is a series of materials developed with the aim of enhancing the powers of expression of junior youth between the ages of 12 and 15. This program is expected to strengthen the existing literacy skills in the young people who participate in this program and will help them begin to articulate ideas with some degree of precision and clarity.
To live a productive and fruitful life in a world of increasing complexity, one must be able to translate high ideals and noble words into pure deeds. Specifically, youthful minds must be given the tools needed to recognize the moral issues underlying the choices they make. The series of books in this program provide for the development of this important capability.
The generality of youth today live under precarious conditions. Youth before the age of 15, are already assuming weighty responsibilities at an age when fundamental concepts about individual and collective life are formulated in the minds of and adolescent. Youth at this age need to be assited to form proper identities.
